Vercelli, a town of stone and rice fields, reveals itself through this fascinating guided tour dedicated to the element that has shaped its landscape and identity more than any other: water.
The guided visit starts from the imposing churchyard of Sant’Andrea’s Abbey, where a popular legend tells of the existence of a mysterious hidden lake.

From there, the tour continues along Piazza Cavour to the refined Museo Borgogna, which houses works by Angelo Morbelli, Enzo Gazzone, Giuseppe Cominetti and a sketch of the famous Fontana dell’Agricoltura (Fountain of Agriculture) by Attilio Gartmann in themed rooms —masterpieces that visually convey the power of water as artistic inspiration.

The itinerary continues with a fascinating stop: the elegant headquarters of the Associazione Ovest Sesia (West Sesia Irrigation Association), where the history and science of water are narrated through immersive projections inside an evocative setting of red velvet and antique furniture.

The return route follows Via Duomo to Piazza Sant’Eusebio, crossing the greenery of Parco Kennedy to discover the monument to the “Mondina” by Agenore Fabbri and the sculptural group by Gartmann.
